Stewardship Ministry
This year has been
a busy one for the Stewardship Department. In addition to the normal activities
performed on a daily and monthly basis, such as the weekly offering accounting
and bookkeeping, North Street hosted a small group training session from Crown
Financial, participated in a preliminary independent audit, and will be offering
a church-wide small group study this fall entitled, “Your Road to Financial
Freedom.” Crown Financial Ministries trained approximately 30 people from
different churches throughout our area this spring in a one day training session
held here at North Street. Kelly Kamentz, the Regional Director of Crown
and his wife April, spent the day here in Butler and thanks go to all who
participated and helped in the preparation and serving of the breakfast and
lunch. An independent audit was recently completed by Brown and Abbott, an
independent CPA firm from Coraopolis, PA. This audit was not required, but
was requested to obtain professional assistance in order to improve controls and
procedures of the Church. God’s Word says to seek wise counsel, and in stewards
faithfulness is required. We seek to glorify God in all we do, and desire
to be the best stewards of what He has entrusted to us. We will be implementing
the recommendations of the auditing firm in the upcoming months. Once complied,
copies of this audit will be made available upon request. “Your Road to
Financial Freedom” begins this fall on October 7th and concludes on November
11th. The six week sermon series is followed each week with small group studies
that will be offered in the homes and at the church of those who attend North
Street. This series will help adults reduce stress, draw closer to the Lord and
improve your marriage. Children, whether in college or in their teens will learn
to make practical life decisions and how to plan for the future.
We are in need of
individuals who may desire to be trained in financial counseling, specifically
in the area of budgeting to help those in our church and our community seeking
this type of counsel. Please contact John McIntyre, Curt Knotick or one of the
pastors if interested. God is great! He entrusts to us money and
possessions while here on earth, and if we are faithful in managing those
things, He is faithful in re-supplying seed to the sower. Not to increase our
standard of living, but to increase our standard of giving. Our reward for
faithfulness comes when and where it matters most, in Heaven for Eternity!
